The machine hosting this site,
mag.ik.nu, has been moved to
another physical location. Some people may have experienced outages, but
hopefully that is all resolved now.
Talking about moving, the backend for
Mimír has undergone some
changes
as well. Furthermore, I've
created
an about page for
Mimír with information about its inner workings. It features a
cool graphic!

Jabber, Inc., one of
the companies that support the
Jabber Software Foundation
and all things Jabber in general, of course has a Chief Architect in
the person of hildjj.
He keeps tracks of the
Musings from the Jabber,
Inc. Architecture Group, which I immediately added as a
channel in Mimir.
He's also
written
JEP-0080:
Geographic Location Information, a data format for encoding
geograhic information and transport it over Jabber. I am thinking of
using this for the Jabber World
Map over
pubsub.
And if that wasn't enough, he produced an internet draft with the
IETF on
TINS,
a Transport for Initiating and Negotiating Sessions using SDPng over
XMPP.
Keep up the good work!

Jeremy Lunn and Rob
Norris have teamed up with a
couple of other people to form Jabber Australia. The thing is
covered by The
Age, Slashdot
and LinMagAU.
Congrats, guys!
I have been thinking of doing a similar thing here in The
Netherlands. If you are interested in getting this off the ground, let me
know.
Update: Tony Collins is part of the Jabber
Australia committee.

It's that time of year again. Today I have reached the age of
26.
Wow.
Let's hope this year will be full of
Jabber and other cool stuff!
